GETNS Newsletter March 2023

Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope that this Newsletter finds you well!

We have an action packed few weeks lined up as we move into March. Next week, we are closed for our in-service in the Primary Language Curriculum as well as First Aid Training for our SNAs. For the remainder of the week, we will be celebrating Empathy week, and encouraging our students to ‘walk in the shoes of others’, as well as developing empathy for oneself. March has an exciting line up of activities, with our overarching theme being the celebration of diversity! I would like to sincerely thank all the GETNS staff for providing such a wonderful range of school initiatives. It’s going to be truly a remarkable month! An information evening for all prospective parents of pupils for September 2023 is being held at 7pm on Tuesday, March 21 in the GETNS hall. Please spread the word!

Míle Buíochas!

Francis

GETNS Friday Assembly: February 24th 2022
Theme: Love

This month’s assembly theme was love! We celebrated the love we have for our families, friends and community. As we look towards the spring we reminded students about our Get Outside programme. We also highlighted empathy and treating others how we would like to be treated.

School Attendance
The Educational Welfare Officer Paul McCavera visited GETNS before the midterm, and was delighted to see such good attendance in our school rollbook! He wants to remind everyone of the importance of both attendance and punctuality when attending school. We encourage all our students to arrive to school on time and attend as many days as possible!
