Welcome to our newly launched Galway Educate Together National School website
We hope you find it useful and informative. More fondly known as GETNS, we are an Educate Together (ET) primary school that was founded in Galway in 1994.
We have a very well established school and staff that strive for excellence in education for our students. Our staff are extremely proactive in developing our student’s both in their academic learning and holistic development. Our school mission promotes inclusion in its fullest sense. We also endeavour to develop a strong partnership with parents in our school and have a very active PGA.
Our ET ethos permeates the school day in our interaction with our students and staff members. We aim to celebrate difference, develop our student’s ability to express themselves in a respectful way, and develop empathy for others. We ensure our students’ voice is listened to through the Children’s Advisory Panel.
Like other ET schools, we engage the Learn Together Curriculum. The newly revised curriculum has four strands: An Ethical Approach to the Environment, Equality and Justice, Values and Ethical Perspectives and Belief Systems.
GETNS has a whole host of curricular and extra-curricular activities for students to enjoy. Our team of highly dedicated professionals ensure that there are multiple opportunities for our students to develop their learning in a variety of ways, and foster a love of life-long learning. We hope you enjoy all that GETNS has to offer.

World Book Day 2025 – Senior Infants

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Senior Infants
Senior Infants worked hard to make their St. Patricks day crown and had an amazing time leading the GETNS St Patrick’s day parade. All of the classes were so kind and cheered us all on while we paraded around the school celebrating St. Patrick’s day.
Pancake Day in Senior Infants

Club Ógras
Club Ógras is offered to 3rd & 4th class students every Tuesday after school. Children have fun speaking Irish and developing their confidence with the language through games & activities. The club helps children to develop their oral language skills in a relaxed & friendly way through immersion.
